Having trouble winning your first set in early morning matches? The answer could be in your routine. In order to maximize your readiness for a match, you need to make sure that you are preparing the correct way. Here are some simple steps to make sure you are ready to go!
The first step in preparing for a match starts the night before. You want to make sure that you are eating a healthy dinner, which includes carbs and proteins and getting a good night’s rest. Give yourself around 7-8 hours of sleep.
You will want to wake up 2-3 hours minimum before your match to make sure that you are properly awake, as well as have time to eat a healthy breakfast and get a good 30-45 minute warm up in before you match.
Around 15 minutes before your match, it’s a good idea to start stretching and visualizing the game plan for the match (something you have worked on with a coach recently).
If you have a routine such as this then you should feel as ready as possible to bring your “A Game” every first set!
