Member Spotlight: The Duarte Family
Have you met the Duarte Family?
Q: What brought your family to tennis?
A: My husband and I wanted the kids to be involved in an outdoor sport. I grew up playing tennis and was wanting to get back into it. The kids tend to enjoy anything we do together as a family so it seemed a natural choice. They've both taken a few lessons here and there and enjoyed them. The kids started Tuesday and Thursday clinics and after one session they were both hooked. Jake and Tyler as well as the rest of the staff make TTSC a fun place to be.
Q: What is your fondest memory of TTSC?
A: When I was playing junior tournaments there were a couple of big ones held at TTSC every summer and it was always fun seeing tennis friends from around the state. I also enjoyed just spending summer days at the club with friends. We'd play tennis, swim and sneak off to the shopping center through the back field. I love the fact that my kids are now creating their own TTSC memories.
Q: If you could change any rule in tennis – what would it be?
A: Vivien: never play no-ad - I don't like the sudden death feel of it
Isabelle: "use doubles lines for singles"
Leo: "more than one bounce"
Gonio: "no loud grunting-yelling"
